Early word on the Ping i15 & G15 Drivers
With the clock ticking down til the official release people are curious of what they should expect from this sibling lineup that Ping is delivering. Here is what we're pretty confident about so far:
- Release Date is looking to be roughly around the 10th of August
- The purpose of releasing a G10/i10 driver is that Ping will be able to cater in a better manner to a wider range of players by giving both exactly what they are looking for. In the G10 lineup its split between the player and the game improvement player. Now each line is designed and will cater to the exact needs and launch conditions of their particular group.
- G15 Driver: By looking at the photos we can tell this driver is a fan of MOI! It seems to be the chunkier of the two siblings and looks to be a cannon off the tee to say the least. Very long breadth from front to back and should be extremely forgiving on miss-hits while still providing a great amount of distance off the tee.
- i15 Driver: This driver couldn't look any hotter. I strongly believe it should be code named "The Fonz" because it really can't get much cooler than this! This driver looks to have a dark black coating around the head and throughout the face. Another big difference is the extended hosel length. Speculation says that their might be adjustability from the factory to be able to bend this driver to the needs of the player. This option would be great for the tall and shorter player who could benefit from a lie angle that suits their needs off the tee. Also the player that REALLY wants their driver open can get just that. And with the incredible amount of accuracy that PING provides, you'll know that you will get exactly what you order. Furthermore this driver can't just be about control. With it's sister driver the V2 Rapture tearing up the charts with its ridiculous amount of ball speed, you would have to assume that the i15 will be bringing the heat too. Word is that this driver will absolutely give the V2 Rapture a run for its money in terms of ball speed. Buckle Up Folks!
As we get our hands on these drivers we look to do some intensive testing on our TrackMan unit comparing it to similar and comparable models in the marketplace today. We will also be doing some intensive on course playing with various setups and will be reporting back to you via video on how it plays out. We're extremely excited to start playing with the new models and look to have some great things to report in the coming weeks!
The folks at Golfwrx have done a great job at getting some amazing pics in the first week out of the gates and you can see more photos of these two drivers by clicking on the driver photo which will take you right to the gallery section. Please Enjoy!
